We are a unique cultural institution nationally known for PaleyFest and PaleyLive events. We have the PaleyArchive of over 160,000 television and radio programs and advertisements in all genres that spans from the beginning of electronic media to today. This archive is accessible to the public at our locations in Los Angeles and New York City. We also use this archive for FREE SCREENINGS each weekend, and FREE EXHIBITS throughout the year. Our Education Department also offers classes to K-12 grades on various topics related to media literacy.
We have buildings in midtown Manhattan, at 25 West 52 Street, between Fifth & Sixth Avenues, Rockefeller Center and MOMA, and around the corner from Radio City Music Hall. And in Los Angeles at 465 N. Beverly Drive in downtown Beverly Hills, at Little Santa Monica.

History: We were founded in 1975 by broadcasting pioneer and the founder of CBS, William S. Paley, who had the revolutionary idea to preserve TV and radio programming and celebrate it in a serious way. We opened our doors in New York in 1976. Back in the day we were The Museum of Broadcasting; then The Museum of Television & Radio; now The Paley Center for Media. All the same institution, responding to the evolution/revolution in the art, business, and consumption of television and radio.

Recent past PaleyLive events include premieres and special screenings of Jessica Jones with Krysten Ritter; the cast producers of Jesus Christ Superstar Live with John Legend and Alice Cooper; One Day at a Time with Rita Moreno and Norman Lear; a Newhart reunion with Bob Newhart, and many many others.

PaleyFest is the granddaddy of TV fan festivals, started more than three decades ago by The Paley Center for Media (well back then it was The Museum of Broadcasting, but that’s another story). Yes, more than thirty years ago. Because even back then, we knew that TV rocks.
PaleyFest LA brings you and legions of your sister and fellow fans to the famous Dolby Theatre (right after the Oscars!) together with the stars and creators of your favorite shows for a mutual love-in. Because the stars onstage are as excited to hang with you, the fans for a bit, as you are to be with them.
Each event starts with a screening of (usually) never before seen material, either an episode, or highlights. Then the moderator brings on the panel. Huge fan moment. Followed by the moderator asking questions, and then an audience Q&A.
